A 75-YEAR-OLD man perished in a fire that struck a house in Doña Esperanza Village, Barangay Tisa, Cebu City, early Tuesday morning, February 11.

The Cebu City Fire Station reported that the blaze began at 6:48 a.m., affecting a 30-square-meter home owned and occupied by Ronald Dagatan and his family.

Firefighters arrived at 6:53 a.m. and immediately raised a first alarm. The fire was declared under control by 7:22 a.m. and completely extinguished at 7:32 a.m.

Authorities identified the fatality as Francisco Labra, who was reportedly ill and alone in the house when the fire started.

He was found burned beyond recognition inside his room on the first floor.

Fire officials said the victim was unable to escape in time due to his condition. No other injuries were reported.

The fire caused an estimated damage of P450,000.(MyTVCebu)
