LED by a former Cebuano sportswriter, Jiujitsu Methods Pilipinas (JMP) shone bright in Season 3 of the Relentless Bacolod Jiujitsu Invitational held over the weekend in Bacolod City.
The Lemuel Maglinte-coached JMP collected seven wins in a masterful performance that saw the team swept all its assignments.
“We prepared hard for this. I was confident with my team but sweeping all our matches seems surreal for me. I’m really proud of my boys,” said Maglinte, also the head coach of Ringside Cebu.
Maglinte led the team’s strong showing by defeating Archie Brocio of Fabricio Jiujitsu Bulacan in a brown belt match.
Josh Ybañez scored a twinkill, beating Aklan’s Von Juanitas and Neil Anjoay of Baguio City.
Eric Los Baños edged McLean Tudayan of Baguio, while heavyweight Alfred Alega manhandled Iloilo City’s Rho Fajutrao.
Pau Musili, a Cebu-based US Army veteran, prevailed over Kreamer Cabuguason of Bacolod, while Yellow belt Jinani Agbayani pocketed a pair of gold after dominating both Gi and NoGi action in his division.(CCM)
