CHILD abuse charges will be filed against a male public school teacher who was accused of biting his two male pupils.
Maj. Jiceree Basitao, chief of the Inayawan Police Station, said charges for violation of Republic Act 7610 otherwise known as the "Special Protection of children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Actโ will be filed against the teacher from Don Vicente Rama Memorial National High School in Cebu City.
After learning about the incident, parents of the two pupils aged 15 and 14 sought help from Basak Pardo barangay captain Dave Tumulak.
Basitao said the 15-year-old pupil is a son of a policeman, who is determined to file charges against the teacher.
The other alleged victim is still hesitating to take legal action, Basitao said.
The teacher and the parents faced each other before Tumulak on Tuesday, September 3. The teacher refused to comment on the allegations thrown against him.
The 15 year-old pupil narrated that the teacher asked him to show his abs. The teacher allegedly threatened that the pupil would face consequences if he refused to show him his abs.
The boy alleged that the teacher went on to bite his back even if he had shown his abs.
The 14-year-old pupil, on the other hand, accused the teacher of making sexual advances. The pupil said his teacher bit his arm while also kissing him.
There is enough evidence such as a medical certificate against the teacher, said Basitao.
โThe president and other students present during the incident will testify,โ said Basitao.
Basitao said it is possible that more complainants will show up against the teacher.
The teacher was allegedly known for inviting his students for a stroll and other outdoor activities.(CDB)
