TO aid incoming college students in pursuing higher education, the Cebu City College Scholarship Program (CCCSP) will accept applications from January 5 to March 31 next year.

The initiative provides financial support to graduating senior high school students from public and private schools in Cebu City.

CCCSP Executive Director Judy Yap said the program completed orientations in all public schools across Cebu Cityโ€™s barangays by November 20, 2024. She added that orientations in private schools are set to begin in December.

The CCCSP is open to graduating senior high school students in Cebu City. Applicants must graduate from a Cebu City school, be residents of the city, and provide a voterโ€™s certification from the Cebu City Commission on Elections (COMELEC) for their parent(s) or themselves if over 25 years old, showing participation in the last two local elections.

They must also submit a barangay certification confirming residency, proof of residency such as utility bills, and an annual income tax return (ITR) of parents or a single parent, not exceeding P400,000 annually.

Additional documents include a PSA Birth Certificate and diplomas from elementary, junior high school, and senior high school, or an Alternative Learning System (ALS) diploma.

Private school graduates are eligible if they attended public junior high school or benefited from the Department of Education voucher programs or other academic scholarships.

Applicants must submit their documents to their respective schools and will undergo a qualifying examination in April 2025.

The CCCSP also provides services to current scholars. Those under the Ladderized Program, who initially receive grants for two-year college courses, may apply for an additional two-year grant, provided they have no failing grades.

Scholars who failed two or more subjects may regain their benefits after retaking and passing the failed courses.

Additionally, scholars in their first year may transfer schools or change courses if they have no failing grades in the first two semesters.

Scholars requesting these services must provide specific documents, including grade records, examination results, scholarship certificates, affidavits of undertaking, and a formal letter addressed to Cebu City Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia through the CCCSP.

The CCCSP continues to expand its support for Cebu Cityโ€™s students by promoting accessibility to education and fostering academic excellence.

Prospective and current scholars are encouraged to coordinate with their schools or visit the CCCSP office for assistance.(MyTVCebu)
