BOUNCING back from a shock loss with aplomb, the NorthPort Batang Pier scored what could be their biggest win in the tournament yet, taking down the Hong Kong-based guest team Eastern, 120-113, in the 49th PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Friday night, December 20, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.

Kadeem Jack and Arvin Tolentino both came up with 30-point performances, leading NorthPort’s impressive win that enabled them to regain sole possession of the lead in the team standings with six wins and one loss.

The two squads came into the match tied at the No. 1 spot, and it was the Batang Pier who came out determined after stumbling in their last outing against the erstwhile winless Phoenix Fuel Masters, 109-115.

Jack and Tolentino were instrumental in the big win with the former tallying 38 points and nine rebounds and the latter putting in 35 markers and six boards.

Also giving NorthPort a huge lift was Joshua Munzon, William Navarro, and Fran Yu, who added a combined 34 points.

Chris McLaughlin led Eastern with 26 points and 19 rebounds while Hayden Blankley chipped in 24 points and 10 rebounds.
