BOUYED by the strong showing of their reserves, the San Miguel Beermen got back at the TNT Tropang 5G with a convincing 111-92 victory in Game 2 of the 50th PBA Ph Cup Finals on Friday night, Jan. 23, at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.
The Beermen led from start to finish to even the best-of-seven series at 1-all as they mightily bounced back from a 91-96 defeat in Game 1.
San Miguelโs second unit combined for just 27 points in Game 1 but Game 2 was a different story. The Beermen got 58 points from their reserves in the series-tying victory with Don Trollano leading the bench mob with a game-high 22 points.
June Mar Fajardo tallied 17 poits while big man Mo Tautuaa finished with 14 markers. CJ Perez added 13 markers, Jericho Cruz and Marcio Lassiter each had 12 while Juami Tiongson contributed nine in the Beermenโs balanced attack.
Rey Nambatac paced TNT with 17 points while Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser, Jordan Heading, Calvin Oftana, and Kevin Ferrer added a combined 51 points.
After producing a combined 16 points in Game 1, Simon Enciso and Poy Erram were held scoreless in the loss.
