Director Rob Reiner, wife found dead; son arrested

THE 32-year-old son of Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner was arrested after the couple was found dead with multiple stab wounds at home.

The Los Angeles Police Department said on Monday that Nick Reiner had been arrested with no bail recommended.

Romy, the couple's 28-year-old daughter, found her parents with multiple stab wounds at home in Brentwood, California on Sunday, sources told the BBC's US partner CBS News.

Rob Reiner was known for directing several iconic films in a variety of genres, including When Harry Met Sally, This is Spinal Tap, Stand By Me, Misery and A Few Good Men.

The Los Angeles Fire Department later identified the fatalities as Rob Reiner, 78, and his wife Michele, 68.

Nick Reiner was arrested several hours later.

The motive of the killing is being investigated.(MyTVCebu)
