Woman nabbed after shots fired at Rihanna’s Beverly Hills mansion
A 35-YEAR-OLD woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after gunfire struck the Beverly Hills home of pop star Rihanna.
Authorities identified the suspect as Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, who remains in custody with bail set at $10.2 million (£7.6 million), a report by BBC said.
Police responded to reports of gunfire at the singer’s residence at around 1:15 p.m. local time on Sunday.
Investigators said the suspect allegedly fired an AR-15-style weapon from a vehicle toward the property.
Rihanna was reportedly inside the house during the incident, but no injuries were reported.
Police recovered assault rifle shell casings at the scene as part of the investigation.
Ortiz was later located and arrested at the Sherman Oaks Galleria, about eight miles from the residence.
Authorities said the suspect is from Orlando, Florida, while the motive behind the attack remains unclear.
Rihanna, whose real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, recently welcomed her third child, a daughter named Rocki, with partner A$AP Rocky. The couple also shares two sons, Riot and RZA.
The Barbados-born singer rose to global fame in the early 2000s with hits like Pon de Replay and Umbrella. A nine-time Grammy winner, Rihanna has also built a major business empire through brands such as Fenty Beauty. Forbes estimates the 37-year-old artist’s net worth at over $1 billion.
