Rain or Shine pours it on in endgame to beat Phoenix

THE Rain or Shine Elasto Painters seized the solo lead in Group B of the 49th PBA Governors’ Cup after they whopped the Phoenix Fuel Masters on Tuesday night, September 10, at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

The Elasto Painters put the game away behind a strong endgame push as they snatched their fifth win in six outings. Rain or Shine trailed by two, 95-97, when it staged a dizzying 24-4 run that gave them a 119-101 lead with only 1:22 to go.

Adrian Nocum and import Aaron Fuller each scored 16 points to lead Rain or Shine, which duplicated its 116-99 win in its first meeting with Blackwater.

Nocum also added a career-high 10 rebounds for his first career double-double while Fuller also pitched in 11 boards.

Brandone Francis had another strong scoring night, firing a game-high 31 points but Phoenix still couldn’t end the bleeding as it dropped to 0-6 (win-loss).
