THE Loon Municipal Police Station in Bohol province was named as the country’s Best Municipal Police Station.
The recognition was given during the Philippine National Police (PNP) Day 2026 Celebration on Jan. 29 at Camp Crame in Quezon City.
Receiving the award was Capt. Thomas Zen Cheung, the chief of Loon police.
With a theme “Serbisyong Nararamdaman, Kapulisang Maasahan,” the celebration was attended by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Juanito Victor Remulla, and PNP Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.
Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan, chief of the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas, congratulated the Loon police for the national recognition.
Maranan said the police force in Loon showed discipline, professionalism, and dedication that led them to win the award.
“This national recognition is a testament to the dedication and exemplary service of the Loon Municipal Police Station. Their unwavering commitment to effective, high-quality policing sets a benchmark for other stations nationwide. Congratulations!” said Maranan.
Operational excellence, community-centered approach, and results-driven policing were used as the basis to choose the awardee.
As a recipient of the award, the Loon police served as a model of discipline, effective and high-standard police.
Winning the award also showed the strong support of the local government unit to the Loon police, Maranan said.(CDB)
