Pag-IBIG’s housing fair set in Cebu City
THE moment that house-hunters have been waiting for has finally arrived.
The Pag-IBIG Fund will hold its Visayas Housing Fair from April 30 to May 1 at the IEC Convention Center Cebu, offering access to more than 20,000 housing units across the Visayas and other regions, alongside on-site financing and assistance for buyers.
Officials said at least 47 accredited developers will participate, presenting over 10,000 housing units, including ready-for-occupancy homes in Cebu and nearby provinces.
The fair will also display Pag-IBIG acquired assets, including 564 properties in Cebu.
More than 5,000 prospective homebuyers are expected to attend the two-day event, which remains open to walk-in participants with free registration.
Organizers said the setup is designed as a one-stop venue for property selection, loan consultation, and application processing.
Domingo Jacinto Jr., vice president for public and media relations at Pag-IBIG, said during the Kapihan sa PIA on April 29 that the initiative aims to widen access to housing opportunities.
“It’s a real chance to find a housing unit and buy and afford with the help of Pag-IBIG fund,” he said.
He said the housing fair forms part of the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.
The program raises the income eligibility ceiling for borrowers from P14,000 to P34,600, allowing more low- and moderate-income earners to qualify for subsidized home loans.
He said the agency has also set up housing improvement loan options during the event, allowing eligible homeowners to borrow up to P300,000 for renovations.
Officials advised attendees to prepare basic requirements, including a valid government-issued ID and proof of income, to speed up assessment and processing at the venue.
They also encouraged pre-registration online to streamline entry and reduce waiting time.
Loan applications, once complete documents are submitted, may be approved within 20 working days, depending on compliance and verification.
The Cebu fair forms part of a nationwide rollout of regional housing events in partnership with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, following earlier staging in Central Luzon and with similar fairs scheduled in other regions across the country.(MyTVCebu)
