THE five-level Inambakan Falls in the town of Ginatilan, southern Cebu, will be temporarily closed.

The municipal government announced that the falls will be closed from May 25 to 29 (Monday to Friday) to remove a large rock that fell following days of non-stop rains.

“Nahulog siya kay sige man gud siya ulan ato. Taod-taod na sad ang bato mga two weeks ago, maong mahadlok sila mayor nga moligid unya ma timing naa unya mga guest. So ila sa kuahon didto, kay basin mahulog moadto sa falls unya naay mga nangaligo,” said Donna Lavarez-Andicoy, Information Officer of Ginatilan.

The impending closure is upon the recommendation of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, which emphasized the need to ensure the safety and enhanced experience of tourists and other stakeholders.

Lavarez said the target completion of the clearing operations may be extended depending on the situation in the area.

Meanwhile, Lavarez said that even with the current high temperatures in Cebu, the waterfall continues to flow steadily, with no significant decrease in water volume or signs of drying up.

The same goes for Kanlaon Falls, Cambais Falls, and other waterfalls in the town of Alegria, which, according to the MDRRMO, have not dried up despite the extreme heat.

The MDRRMO has also not received any reports of heat stroke incidents among tourists and visitors.(MyTVCebu)
