MARCIO Lassiter made history and the San Miguel Beermen made his feat more special when they routed the Barangay Ginebra Kings, 131-82, in the 49th PBA Governors’ Cup on Sunday night, September 15, at the Araneta Coliseum.

It was during the 49-point massacre when Lassiter moved to the no. 1 spot in the league’s all-time three-point ladder after knocking down six three-pointers.

Lassiter now has 1,252 made three-pointers, overtaking Jimmy Alapag, who finished his PBA career with 1,250 triples.

The Fil-Am gunner ended up scoring 18 points as he was one of the six Beermen who scored in double figures that sealed the squad’s most lopsided win in franchise history.

The one-sided loss is also Ginebra’s worst defeat in franchise history.

June Fajardo top scored for San Miguel with 24 points, CJ Perez collected 22 markers, Terrence Romeo pitched 14, import Jordan Adams had 12, and Don Trollan had 11 in San Miguel’s sixth win in eight games.

Rookie RJ Abarrientos paced the anemic Kings with 19 points and Justin Brownlee had 16.

It was Ginebra’s second defeat in seven outings.
