Gilas goes winless in 2 friendlies in South Korea
GILAS Pilipinas suffered another lopsided loss in its second friendly as it bowed to South Korea, 43-69, in the 2026 Hana Bank Invitational at the Suwon KT Sonic Boom Arena on Sunday, Sept. 6.
Gilas also lost to the same Korean squad last Friday, 55-81, falling 0-2 heading to the 2026 Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya, which will start on Sept. 11.
Gilas suffered a flat start, scoring just four points in the first quarter that set the tone for South Korea’s one-sided win.
Justine Baltazar was the lon Gilas to score in double figures with 14 points that went along with six rebounds. Adrian Nocum chipped in nine points in the defeat.
After a 27-point performance in their first win, Lee Hyun Jung managed just six points but Kisang Yu was there to fill the scoring void by tallying 15 points.
NBA Summer League campaigner Lee Jung Hyun collected 11 points, 15 rebounds and six assists. Yeo Junseok scattered 14 points while Jang Jaeseok finished with 10 points in a balanced attack by the South Korean squad.(CCM)
