Demecillo looks to rebound versus Taiwanese foe in ‘Bakbakan Syete’
CEBUANO boxer Carlo Demecillo will have a chance to get back on the winning track after he was tapped as a replacement opponent of a Taiwanese fighter in the “Bakbakan Syete” card on Sunday, Aug. 9, in Asturias, Cebu.
The 30-year-old Demecillo will take on Ming Hung Lee, who is on a four-fight winning streak.
Lee was supposed to take on Reycar Auxillo in the card put up by Big Yellow Promotions and the local government unit of Asturias.
Auxillo pulled out from the card due to an injury, paving the way for Demecillo’s entry.
Demecillo is coming off a third-round knocout loss to Igorot fighter Carl Jammes Martinn.
The loss, his fourth in the last five fights, pulled Demecillo’s record down to 19W-13-L,2D, 11KOs. Before losing to Martin, Demecillo prevailed over Justin Darapa via TKO last December 2025 in Naga City, Cebu.
On the other hand, the 37-year-old Lee is looking to keep his streak going. He has 11 wins, eight by knockout, with only one defeat.
The card will be headlined by Arlando Senoc, the prized fighter of the Big Yellow Boxing Stable, who will go up against Jhonrey Labajo of Talisay City, Cebu.
Senoc, the current World Boxing Organization Asia-Pacific Youth Flyweight champion, is unbeaten in eight fights with seven of his wins coming by way of knockout.
Labajo has four wins and five losses.
Other fights are Deams Lloyd Valdez versus Zairus Esito, Aldren Aton against Jaybe Cais, Venance Dances versus Niño Jay Malbago, and Ruel Compuesto against Bryan James Wild.(CCM)
