KRIS Aquino, the self-styled Queen of All Media who is battling autoimmune diseases, has revealed in relief that she was declared cancer-free.

Aquino disclosed that she was suspected of having colon cancer, the same illness that afflicted her mother, the late President Corazon Aquino.

In a lengthy message posted on her Instagram account, Kris admitted that she has been quiet because the “truth was hard to accept” and that she is now in her “new reality.”

The talk show host and actress then proceeded that she wanted everyone to know her recent health condition straight from her.

She said she underwent a series of tests including a PET SCAN (positron emission tomography), a type of imaging test which is also done to rule out cancer. In her case, Kris underwent a CT scan and also a scan of her eyes, nose, and upper cheeks to check on her breathing and sinus passages because of her constant headache and runny nose.

“It was devastating, after my Pet Scan, I was knocked out… I could sense something was wrong because my team didn’t do their normal rounds,” she said.

“The next day, my gastroenterologist had no choice but to tell me because I needed to start my purge for my endoscopy and colonoscopy. The abdominal area, specifically my colon area lit up,” she proceeded.

While she is trying to be brave despite her current ordeals, Kris said it is hard to tell and see her son Bimby, who is trying his best also to stay strong for her. Luckily, she said, Bimby always has a positive outlook.

Two days later, the results were out, and Kris received good news from one of her doctors.

“Dr. Jonnel was smiling, he said – you are CANCER FREE. Clear intestines. No visible sign of cancer,” Kris said.

However, Kris admitted that she is not 100 percent healthy yet as she has to still battle against her autoimmune diseases.

Kris said the three autoimmune conditions are “Churg Strauss now known as EGPA (a rare form of vasculitis); Systemic Sclerosis or SCLERODERMA; and LUPUS or SLE, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.”

The actress goes on to state her health conditions as she promised not to give up.

“I promised myself BAWAL SUMUKO. I need a goal, something for all of us to look forward to. #tuloyanglban,” she said.

She then revealed she has an upcoming show which will be launched before the year ends.

Kris did not give further details of the show but promised her fans that people would get to see her present-day journey and “as much as possible the reality of Kris, Bimb, and my ‘through the years’ best friends” referring to her team of doctors whom she considered as extended family and most trusted friends.

Kris recently arrived home after going to the US in 2022 to seek treatment for at least five autoimmune diseases.(LAO)
