Ginebra, TNT tap new imports

THE second round of the PBA Season 50 Governors’ Cup will resume with the TNT Tropang 5G and Barangay Ginebra Kings parading new imports.

TNT tapped Nick Hornsby to replace Rahlir Holls-Jefferson while Ginebra signed Jordan Murphy as a replacement for Riley Grigsby.

TNT and Ginebra faced off in last season’s Governors’ Cup Finals with the Tropa, powered by Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, winning the best-of-seven championship series, 4-2.

This conference, the two squads are not having much success.

Before the league took a long break to give way to the FIBA World Cup 2027 Qualifiers and Asian Games, TNT pocketed four wins in eight matches while Ginebra could only muster a 2-4 (win-loss) slate in Group A.

The 31-year-old Hornsby is a product of Sacramento State University with extensive stints in international leagues. Hornsby was an All-Second Team member in the Canadian Elite Basketball League in 2026.

Like Hornsby, Murphy was unsuccessful in his bid to join the NBA. He wasn’t drafted in the 2019 NBA Draft) despite a solid showing in the University of Minnesota, where he emerged as the school’s career all-time rebounder and career double-double leader.(CCM)
