REIGNING Miss World Philippines Krishnah Gravidez is receiving immense support from her national pageant organization following her involvement in a controversial video known as the “guess the bill” challenge.
The Miss World Philippines Organization (MWPH) has issued a statement through its social media platform expressing its unwavering support for Gravidez.
In its message, MWPH clarified that the video does not reflect Gravidez’s true character or values, describing it as a lighthearted moment shared among friends that was unfortunately made public without her permission.
“Krishnah is a person of integrity, compassion, and dedication to her advocacy of ‘Color the World with Kindness,’” MWPH stated.
The organization praised her consistent commitment to charitable endeavors and her genuine concern for others, highlighting her role as an inspirational figure in the community.
The contentious video, which was later deleted, featured Gravidez and others in a game of guessing the cost of their dinner.
Gravidez’s guess was the closest to the total bill of P133,423.99, leading to her being filmed as she appeared to hand over her credit card.
Content creator Emmanuelle Atienza, who posted the video, later clarified that the dinner was sponsored, and the challenge was intended as a lighthearted joke.
Recognizing the situation as a learning opportunity, MWPH reminded the public about the importance of mindfulness in social media contexts.
Gravidez took full responsibility for her participation, asserting that her intention was never to promote an extravagant lifestyle.
In a statement, she expressed empathy for the struggles faced by many Filipinos and reiterated her dedication to using her platform to promote charity and compassion.(CMM)
