THE Abellana National School (ANS) Alumni Futbolitos and Cebu Urduja FC got a share of the limelight after copping separate titles in the inaugural Sugbo Calidad Football Fest over the weekened at the Cebu City Sports Center.

ANS grabbed the men’s open title by beating Amigos Unidos in their title match with Henry Perales securing the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.

Perales’ teammate, Cejay Cueva, snatched the the Best Midfielder accolade.

Cebu Urduja, on the other hand, snagged the women’s open tiara by defeating the University of the Philippines (UP) Cebu in their own championship duel.

In the youth categories, ADA Cebu was crowned champion in the boys under-16 division with Classico de San Carlos netting the runner-up honors.

Cebu United FC ruled the girls under-14 category with Don Bosco Liloan A finishing first runner-up. Classico de San Carlos B dominated the boys under-14 title at the expense of sister team Classico de San Carlos A.

Sugbu Calidad FC also made a lot of noise, winning the the under-6 and under-8 divisions. Saint Theresa’s College captured the under-10 title while ADA Cebu went home with the under-12 division title.

Over 150 teams competed in the tournament that was organized by Sugbu Calidad FC.(CCM)
