REGIE Suganob, the prized fighter of PMI Bohol Boxing Stable, will be heavily tested when he headlines the Kumong Bol-Anon 24 on February 28 at the Bohol Cultural Center in Tagbilaran City.

The first offering for 2026 of the highly successful boxing series put up by PMI Bohol Boxing Promotions will have Suganob going up against the world-rated Rodrigo “El Consentido” Ramirez of Venezuela.

The 33-year-old Ramirez poses strong credentials being rated No. 7 in the World Boxing Association (WBA) light flyweight division.

Currently on a two-fight winning streak, Ramirez has 21 wins, 14 via knockout. He only has two losses and two draws.

Ramirez is the kind of an opponent that Suganob needs to show that he is ripe to contend for a world title again.

Just like Ramirez, Suganob is highly rated as he is currently No. 3 in the World Boxing Organization, No. 8 in the World Boxing Council, and No. 5 in the International Boxing Federation rankings.

Suganob holds a 17W-1L, 6 KOs slate and is on a four-fight winning streak. The Boholano boxer has not lost again since faltering in his first shot at a world title in 2023 that saw him lose to hometown bet Sivenathi Nontshinga in South Africa.(CCM)
