CONVERGE is one of the hottest teams in the 49th PBA Commissioner’s Cup right now, and the FiberXers could only thank one of their rookies for their scorching run.
Jordan Heading has been solid as of late, powering Converge’s string of four straight wins that hiked its record to 6-2 (win-loss).
For his streak of stellar performances in the past week, Heading was named as the PBA Press Corps Player of the Week for the period of Dec. 17 to 25.
Converge joins the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters as the teams that are on a four-game winning streak.
Converge’s latest win was a 110-94 dismantling of the Meralco Bolts on Christmas Day where Heading collected 30 points, eight rebounds, and six assists.
The Fiberxers’ other victims in their current streak are the NLEX Road Warriors, Phoenix Fuel Masters, and Barangay Ginebra Kings.
Heading pocketed the weekly accolade by averaging 19.5 points on 51-percent shooting on top of 4.3 rebounds, 7.8 assists, and 1.5 steals.
“I’m thankful to the coaching staff for trusting me, to have the responsibility of putting the ball in my hands and I’m taking that responsibility seriously,” said Heading.(CCM)
