CEBUANO boxer AJ Paciones shone bright in Bangkok, Thailand, defeating his Chinese opponent to keep his World Boxing Association (WBA) Asia light flyweight title.
Paciones dispatched Xiang Li via unanimous decision on Thursday night, December 26, in Bangkok, Thailand as the 19-year-old native of Barangay Santa Cruz, Cebu City stayed undefeated in his promising career.
All three judges scored the fight for Paciones, 119-109, 119-109, and 120-108.
Paciones now has 10 wins spiked by five knockout victories. With the win, Paciones brightened his world title aspirations as he solidified his hold of No. 2 position in the WBA light flyweight division world rankings.
The Chinese boxer, on the other hand, suffered his third loss in 14 fights. He has two draws and four KO wins.
“I want to thank God for giving me the strength for this fight and this victory. I also want to thank SSC, our boss, and my dad. Without my dad, I wouldn’t be here," Paciones said in a post-fight interview.(CCM)
