WHAT began as a playful kiss cam moment at a Coldplay concert has turned into a serious corporate investigation.

A viral video featuring two mystery attendees has prompted a U.S. tech firm to launch an internal investigation.

The probe stemmed from a recent Coldplay concert in Boston which became controversial when two concertgoers were shown embracing on the venue’s giant screen. As their faces appeared, they abruptly ducked out of view, drawing laughter from the crowd.

Frontman Chris Martin responded with a quip, “Either they’re having an affair, or they’re just very shy.” His comment—and the couple’s reaction—quickly fueled social media chatter.

The clip, first posted to TikTok, garnered millions of views and spread rapidly across platforms. It soon became meme material, with users speculating about the pair’s identities. Some online claimed they were executives from data and analytics firm Astronomer, specifically CEO Andy Byron and Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot. These claims remain unverified.

As rumors and fabricated statements circulated, Astronomer released a statement two days after the concert, confirming that its board had opened a formal investigation, without referencing the concert or the video.

“Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding,” the company said per a report by BBC.

The company added that company leaders are expected to uphold high standards of conduct and accountability, and that further details would be shared once the investigation progresses.

The company also addressed online misinformation, clarifying that Byron had not issued a personal statement and that no other employees appeared in the video.

Byron has served as CEO since July 2023. Cabot joined as Chief People Officer in November 2024. Neither has publicly confirmed their presence in the video.
