P5-milion ‘shabu’ seized in Mandaue, Talisay
FIVE high-value targets were arrested by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas (PDEA-7) and the police in separate anti-illegal drug operations in the cities of Mandaue and Talisay on Friday, March 13.
Two of the drug suspects were arrested past 5 p.m. on F.F. Cruz Street in Mandaue City.
The suspects were identified by PDEA-7 Regional Director Joel Plaza as Saac, 23, and Rongen, 18.
Seized from the two men were eight packs of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P5.1 million.
More than an hour later, three more drug suspects were arrested in a suspected drug den in Barangay Cansojong, Talisay.
Four packs of suspected shabu worth P74,900 were seized from Bernie, 64, Raul, 62, and Marvin, 30.
Leia Alcantara, information officer of PDEA-7, said Bernie was previously arrested in 2016 also for drug charges.
The man was released in 2024 but the PDEA-7 received reports that he returned to peddling illegal drugs, Alcantara said.(CDB
