ON A day that millions celebrated Sinulog, six persons were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas (PDEA-7) on Sunday, Jan. 18, in Cebu City.
The first operation took place at 5:15 a.m. at Guadalupe Osmeña Village in Barangay Punta Princesa where a suspected drug den was dismantled and resulted in the arrest of five persons.
PDEA-7 Director Joel Plaza identified the target of the operation as a certain Jessa, a 25-year-old call center agent.
Jessa’s alleged cohort, Mandrin, a 29-year-old habal-habal driver, was also arrested together with Joshua, 27, Marina, 50, Sonia, 32, who were all caught allegedly sniffing shabu when PDEA-7 agents swooped in.
Seized during the operation were 10 packs of suspected shabu worth P40,800.
Leia Alcantara, information officer of PDEA-7, said Jessa was previously arrested also for illegal drug charges but was released on probation.
Three hours later, another operation was conducted in Barangay Tisa, where a truck boy was arrested,
Kenneth, 22, yielded 10 sachets believed to contain shabu worth P40,800 during the arrest, said PDEA-7.(CDB)
