WAR IN IRAN: No mass repatriation of Filipinos just yet
THE Philippine government has yet to make a decision whether it would implement mass repatriation of Filipinos in the Middle East amidst the rising crisis in the region.
It was however assured that if needed, the government is ready for a mass repatriation.
Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac said that the agency is ready for such eventuality with the proper resources in which both private and public sectors will coordinate in terms of transportation through see, air, and land.
In an Inquirer.net said, Cacdac also said that the DMW has already have coordination with the Department of National Defense (DND) in for possible use of military assets in proper time and the agency also have been in touch with private sectors to call forth additional land, sea, and air options for repatriation.
He also assured that all preparations are ready and on standby.
The Mass Repatriation of filipinos will began once the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) raises to highest alert level 4 to the Middle East countries.(Jovie Caton Jr., BiPSU Comm Intern)
