VICE President Sara Duterte recently visited her predecessor, former Vice President Leni Robredo, at her home in Naga City.
The meeting took place during the Peñafrancia Festival, where Robredo was in attendance.
Barry Gutierrez, Robredo's spokesperson, confirmed the visit, noting that it was a “personal meeting” rather than a “political discussion”.
Gutierrez mentioned that Robredo was informed of Duterte’s visit just minutes before it occurred.
The two leaders met for approximately an hour, allowing for an informal exchange between them.
According to a statement from the Office of the Vice President (OVP), Duterte was invited to Naga by a Bicolano friend to attend a centennial Mass celebrating the Canonical Coronation of Our Lady of Peñafrancia.
This friend also facilitated the meeting with Robredo.
During her visit, VP Duterte engaged with various Bicol personalities and participated in Mass with local residents, highlighting her effort to connect with the community.
The OVP statement emphasized that she appeared neither desperate nor distressed during her time in Naga.(CMM)
