FOR the second time in two days, agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas (PDEA-7) seized marijuana-flavored eloctronic cigarettes.
The recent operation took place in Barangay Jugan, Consolacion, Cebu where a 23-year-old man was arrested on Thursday night, Jan. 29.
PDEA-7 regional director Joel Plaza identified the suspect as a certain Jake.
Seized from the suspect were 77 vape pens containing tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), an active component of marijuana, and five vape cartridges containing THC with an estimated value of P206,500.
Also seized were 29 packs of dried marijuana worth P47,520, said Leia Alcantara, information officer of PDEA-7.
Alcantara added that a two-week case buildup showed that Jake was selling 300-500 marijuana-flavored vapes and 500 grams of dried marijuana a week.
Most of the suspect’s customers were center agents, professionals, and students, Alcantara added.
The operation in Consolacion came a day after two men in Cebu City were arrested and vapes cotaining marijuana were seized.
The target in the Cebu City operation was able to escape but PDEA-7 agents arrested Finley, 18, and Jeric, 30, and confiscated 20 e-cigarettes with THC worth P50,000.(CDB)
