WITH one of their stars back in harness, the University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers got back at University of Cebu Webmasters, scoring a vengeful 64-59 win in their second-round meeting in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) Season 25 men’s basketball tournament on Sunday night, Nov. 23, at the Cebu Coliseum.

Raul Gentallan made up for lost time, putting in big numbers after failing to suit up in the two teams’ first meeting last Oct. 12 where the Webmasters prevailed, 64-70.

Gentallan fired a game-high 21 points and also tossed in six rebounds, three assists, and a steal as the Green Lancers moved to third place in the team standings with their eighth win in 10 outings.

Aside from moving up in the rankings, the Lancers also ended the Webmasters’ seven-game winning streak.

Kent Ivo Salarda and AJ Sacayan backed Gentallan with a combined 20 points. Salarda also tallied seven rebounds, four assists, and a steal.

Andre Cuizon scored 14 markers to lead UC, which despite the loss, remained on top of the standings with a 9-2 record. Ricofer Sordilla tallied 11 points, five rebounds, and two assists in a losing cause.(CCM)
