ROGER Yap came out the winner in his first coaching duel with fellow former PBA player Dondon Hontiveros as the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars blew out the University of Cebu-Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue (UCLM) Webmasters, 75-46, in the college division of the CESAFI Season 26 basketball tournament on Thursday night, September 18, at the Cebu Coliseum.

USJ-R capitalized on UCLM’s ice-cold shooting and booked their first win after starting the season with back-to-back losses.

Firing bricks after bricks, UCLM scored just four points in the second quarter, allowing USJ-R to sureg to a 43-14 lead at the turn.

The Jaguars increased the lead to 30, 60-30, after three quarters of play.

Alcher Obra spearheaded the Jaguars with 23 points while Chan Benedict Brigoli contributed 13 markers. Marty Louisse Sotto was the lone UCLM player in double figures with 12 points.(CCM)
