EIGHT wins through eight fights with seven knockout victories.
That’s how Leonard Pores III of PMI Bohol Boxing Stable started pro boxing career.
The hard-hitting 21-year-old fighter will try to sustain his blistering start when he takes on a Cebu-based Japanese boxer in the undercard of the highly anticipated “Kumong Bol-anon 23” slated Nov. 15 in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
Porres will battle ZIP Sanman’s Kiyoto Narukami, a 22-year-old fighter, who is also off to a respectable start.
At stake in the fight is the vacant International Boxing Federation (IBF) Youth flyweight title.
Narukami could not be taken lightly, tallying five wins in his first seven fights including two KO victories. He has one loss and one draw.
Narukami racked up four straight wins before faltering against compatriot Rikuto Sezutsu on Dec. 24 last year. He bounced back from that loss by beating Marawi City’s Dennis Gaviola before settling for a draw against Cebuano Jemuel Aranas at SM Seaside City Cebu on Aug. 24.
Pores, on the other hand, is coming off a successful international debut as he scored a second-round knockout win over hometown bet Suriya Kraimanee last September in Bangkok, Thailand.
The upcoming card will be headlined by PMI’s prized ward Regie Suganob, whose opponent is yet to be announced.(CCM)
