Unbeaten Senoc to see action in Asturias boxfest
EIGHT professional fights and a set of amateur contests will be featured in a historic boxing event that will be held in Asturias, Cebu on Aug. 9.
It will be the first time that a pro boxing card will be staged in Asturias.
Headlining the card that will serve as one of the highlights of the town’s fiesta celebration is the unbeaten and world title prospect Arlando Senoc of the Big Yellow Boxing Stable.
Senoc will be facing Jhonrey Labajo of Talisay City, Cebu.
Senoc is currently the World Boxing Organization Asia-Pacific Youth Flyweight champion. He is unbeaten in eight fights with seven of his wins coming by way of knockout.
Senoc’s last fight took place last December in Naga, Cebu, where he scored a first-round knockout win over Jeric Noynay of Bogo City.
Challenging Senoc is Labajo, who is aching to get back on track after losing three of his last four fights. Included in Labajo’s last four assignments was a majority draw against Claire Villarosa last Aug. 31.
Labajo has four wins and five losses.
Spicing up the card put by promoter May Tio and backed by the local government unit of Asturias led by Mayor Dongkoy Dumdum is the duel between Ming Hung Lee of Taiwan and Reycar Auxillio.
Other fights will feature Jovert Dacullo versus John Ver Espra, Deams Lloyd Valdez vs. Zairus Esito, Alden Aton vs. Jaybe Cais, Kyle Sumalinog vs. Mario Bersano, Venance Dances vs. Nino Jayl Malbago, James Blanco vs. Carlo Condes, and Ruel Compuesto vs. Bryan James Wild.(CCM)
