THE University of Cebu (UC)-Main Baby Webmasters picked up another win but not after going through a dogfight, escaping the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) Blue Dragons, 47-44, in the high school division of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) basketball tournament on Thursday night, Oct. 8, at the Cebu Coliseum.

Gamaliel Chaz Dela Peña scored just seven points but five of them came in the final minutes that helped UC snatch its seventh win in eight games.

CEC fought hard until the end and even had the chance to force overtime but Tyron Gil Francisco missed a desperation triple as time ran out.

UC survived an offensive struggle with no Webmasters scoring in double figures. Still, UC escaped with Jay Xander Bulagsa finishing with nine points and towering center Jade Bialan piling up six points, 15 rebounds, four blocks, one assist, and a steal.

Cedric Dela Rosa fired a game-high 24 points and King Rosello Navarro scored 10 in CEC’s third defeat in five outings.(CCM)
