Truck runs over woman in Dalaguete road crash

A WOMAN died after a 10-wheeler truck ran over her along a national highway in Barangay Manangal, Dalaguete, Cebu on Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 24.

Police said Shena Borne Entia died on the spot.

The victim was driving a motorcycle when the incident happened at 4:10 p.m.

A witness told police that the motorcycle and the truck driven by John Alaine Solibio Tañara of Barangay Combado, Bacong, Negros Occidental were travelling in the same direction when the truck tried to overtake.

As the truck was about to overtake, the woman tried to turn left and endep getting hit by the trailing vehicle. The victim suffered severe injuries in the head and body, police said.

The truck driver was later arrested and may be charged for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and damage to property, police said.(CDB)
