ARVIN Tolentino started slow but finished strong, leading the NorthPort Batang Pier to a 114-87 win over the NLEX Road Warriors in the 49th PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Thursday night, November 28, at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Tolentino was held scoreless in the opening frame where he missed all of his four attempts. The deadly shooter got going in the second period, scoring 15 points that enabled the Batang Pier to erect a sizable 56-41 lead at the half.

It was all NorthPort from that point on as it went on to lead by as many as 31 points in the second half.

Tolentino finished with 29 points on a 10-of-17 shooting from the field, including a perfect 2-for-2 clip from three-point territory.

Import Kadeem Jack racked up 25 points, six rebounds and three assists in NorthPort’s strong start to the tournament while Allyn Bulanadi chipped in 14 points.

Joshua Munzon added 12 points and was responsible for holding NLEX’s top gun Robert Bolick to just three points on head-scratching 1-of-11 shooting from the field.

Michael Griffin-Watkins paced the Road Warriors with 29 points and 19 rebounds.
