HARD-HITTING Christian “The Bomb” Araneta will be ending a 10-month hiatus when he faces a Thailander opponent in the main event of “Kumbati 18” on December 11 at the IPI Compound in Mandaue City.

The Omega Boxing Gym announced that Araneta will take on Thailand’s Sanchai Yotboon in a 10-round, non-title encounter.

Araneta, a 29-year-old native of Borbon, Cebu, is looking to get into top fighting shape following a long layoff.

Sporting a 24W-2L record, Araneta last fought in January where he pulled off a resounding first-round knockout win over Arvin Magramo in an IBF world title eliminator.

Owning 19 knockout victories, Araneta is currently the IBF’s No. 1 junior flyweight contender and is also rated No. 6 by the WBA, No. 8 by the WBO, and No. 11 by the WBC.

Yotboon, on the other hand, has 16 wins and eight losses.

The card will also see Ramil Roda Jr. going up against Ian Donaire for the interim Philippine Boxing Federation super flyweight title.(CCM)
