Struggling Cebu bows to erstwhile winless Parañaque in MPBL

THE downward spiral continued for the Cebu Classic, who lost to erstwhile winless Parañaque Jets, 54-69, in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) on Thursday night, May 1, at the Olivarez College Gym in Parañaque.

Cebu sputtered from the field, shooting just 19-of-66 that heavily contributed to its sixth loss in nine games that pulled them down to 21st spot in the team standings.

Parañaque, on the other hand, ended a long drought, snapping a four-game losing skid to finally barge into the win column.

Jayboy Solis powered the Patriots with 21 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and a steal. Lander Canon added 14 points, 12 rebounds, two blocks, a steal, and an assist.

Jasper Cuevas and Alvin John Capobres helped Parañaque’s cause by putting in a combined 15 points.

The ice-cold Classic didn’t have a double-digit scorer with John Jabonete leading the team with nine points and five rebounds.(MyTVCebu)
