THE Barangay Ginebra Kings snatched a fifth straight win by dominating the Titan Ultra Giant Risers, 119-107, on Sunday night, April 26, in the 50th PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.

By keeping their hot streak going, the Kings raised their record to 7-2 (win-loss) that assured themselves of a spot in the quarterfinal round. Also in the quarters already are the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters (8-1) and NLEX Road Warriors (7-2).

Justin Brownlee came to work for Ginebra and tallied 35 points, nine rebounds, and four assists. RJ Abarrientos collected 25 markers and three rebounds to provide Brownlee the much-needed support.

Three other Ginebra locals scored in double figures with Scottie Thompson and Troy Rosario tallying 12 each and Stephen Holt submitting 10.

Joshua Munzon collected 20 points and 10 assists in the loss–the Titans’ seventh in nine games that shoved them out of the playoff picture.

Only eight teams will advance to the quarterfinal round with the Top 4 enjoying twice-to-beat bonuses against their lower-ranked opponents.
