FORMER collegiate standout RJ Dinolan stuffed the stat sheet to lead the Steadfast Builders to a crucial 98-88 win over Purexfit Cebu in the Mandaue’s Pride Basketball Association (MPBA) Commissioner’s Cup Season 3 over the weekend at the Cebu Port Authority Gym.

A former University of San Jose-Recoletes stalwart, Dinolan shot 10-of-15 from the field to finish with 28 points. He also had 19 rebounds, four assists, and a steal as Steadfast clinched the final semifinal slot in the Elite Division.

Steadfast will face Artera Builders in the semis.

Prince Matt Carin added 21 points while Dinolan’s fellow ex-Jaguar Miguel Gastador and Genald Inigo added 12 and 10 points, respectively.

The eliminated Purexfit was led by Keanu Ray Limana, who came up with a game-high 34 points. Denniser Mark Dela Cerna chipped in 25 points and Rhadie Azarcon had 10 markers.

In the Premier Division, Welec kept its season alive by thrashing Void in their semis duel, 106-53.

Welec banked on a solid team effort to eke out the win with Francis Montebon and JM Sabal firing 24 and 23 points, respectively. Carlo Bacalso contributed 20 points and James Truz had 18 markers.

Void was led by Isiah Nanoy’s 18-point output.(CCM)
