DON Trollano delivered timely hits down the stretch and the San Miguel Beermen made it four in a row by beating the Magnolia Hotshots, 94-92, on Friday night, Nov. 7, in the 50th PBA Philippine Cup at the Ynares Center-Montalban.
Trollano marked his return from a one-game absence with a 29-point explosion, including some clutch hits that propelled the Beermen to their fourth victory in six games.
San Miguel has not lost since the starting the tournament with back-to-back defeats.
Trollano hit 11 of his 16 attempts from the field but his biggest shot came in the final 1:03โa four-ball that shoved the Beermen ahead, 91-88. Before the long bomb, Trollano completed a three-point play that sparked the Beermenโs comeback from a six-point deficit in the closing minutes.
The victory created a logjam at the upper part of standings as San Miguel, Magnolia, and the NLEX Road Warriors now have similar 4-2 (win-loss) slates.
On top are the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters and the TNT Tropang Giga who have identical 5-1 ledgers.
Xav Lucero and Jerom Lastimosa led the Hotshots with 20 and 17 markers, respectively.
