Senoc knocks Labajo out in ‘Bakbakan Syete’
HARD-HITTING Arlando Senoc made short work of Jhonrey Labajo, coming away with an impressive first-round knockout win in the main event of “Bakbakan Syete” on Sunday night, Aug. 9, at the Asturias Gym Auditorium in Asturias, Cebu.
Senoc connected on powerful shots to finish off Labajo at the 55-second mark of the opening round.
The dominant win earned Senoc the Visayas Professional Boxing Association super flyweight title while keeping his spotless record intact.
The Southern Leyte native now holds a 9W-0L record with eight knockout victories.
Labajo suffered his fifth loss against four wins and two draws.
In the featured bout, Taiwan’s Ming Hung Lee topped Carlo Demecillo in the fourth round to snatch the World Boxing Federation Austral-Asian Super Featherweight title.
Lee survived a first-round knockdown to get the win and hiked his record to 12W-1L, 9KOs. Demecillo, who stepped in for Lee’s original opponent, Reycar Auxilio, fell to 19W-13L-2D, 11KOs.
Demecillo was tapped as a replacement opponent after Auxilio was injured a few days before the fight.(CCM)
