P-POP group SB19 recently tackled the ongoing speculation about their sexuality and the dynamics of fan shipping.

During an interview on "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," Stell Ajero confronted the persistent questions regarding his sexual orientation, expressing confusion over why such inquiries are considered offensive.

He emphasized that he does not view speculation about his sexuality as a problem, pointing out that everyone shares common human experiences and needs.

Stell, who has faced this scrutiny since joining SB19, revealed that he remains unaffected by the speculation, seeing it as part of the fame experience. He noted that despite frequent questions about his sexuality, he chooses not to let it bother him.

The group also discussed fan shipping, where followers create romantic pairings between the band members.

He explained that while fan shipping is a part of their fandom culture, it is often misinterpreted by the public.

He clarified that it is normal for them as friends to express affection and care for each other, but the issue arises when such interactions are taken out of context and lead to unnecessary drama.

Ken Suson, another member of SB19, highlighted the impact of these issues on their public image, particularly for those who do not know the band personally. He observed that first impressions, influenced by social media portrayals of fan shipping and conflicts, can be misleading.

Ken pointed out that while fan interactions can be fun, when they escalate into arguments and negativity, it becomes problematic.

Despite these challenges, SB19 remains focused on their music and recent achievements, including winning the Billboard Fan Army Face-Off for the second consecutive year.

The group is also preparing for the release of a documentary film about their "Pagtatag!" era, which will be shown in cinemas from August 28 to September 1.

SB19, consisting of Pablo, Josh, Ken, Stell, and Justin, continues to gain popularity with hits like "GENTO," "MAPA," and "Kalakal," while navigating the complexities of fame and fan expectations.(MyTVCebu)
