Sara says she, Dela Rosa, Go on ICC arrest list
VICE President Sara Duterte, Senators Bong Go and Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa are on the arrest list of the International Criminal Court (ICC).
This was disclosed by the Vice President in a chance media interview during her recent visit in Carcar City, southern Cebu.
Duterte said several individuals are on the arrest list.
“Yes. I’m on the list. There’s a lot. There’s a lot of us on the ICC list),” she told reporters in Tagalog.
In a report by Manila Bulletin, Duterte said she got an inkling of her inclusion on the arrest list because of the way she was treated when she was in The Hague, Netherlands, where she visited her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte.
The Vice President said she was initially prevented from visiting her father daily.
“They stopped allowing me to visit, then they were recording my conversations with [former] president Duterte. So, we understood then that they are listening to our conversations,” she said.
According to the Vice President, also on the list are former Philippine National Police chief Oscar Albayalde, and police generals Vicente Danao and Romeo Caramat Jr.
“Not only me, my name is far down the list. They will be arrested first before me,” she said.
The elder Duterte was arrested on March 11 and was turned over to the ICC in The Hague. He is facing crimes against humanity of murder charges in relation to his bloody illegal drug campaign.
