JEO Santisima, a former world title challenger from Masbate, looks to end the year on a high note when he battles a dangerous opponent on Dec. 26 in Bern, Switzerland.

Santisima, now part of the Cebu-based ZIP Sanman Boxing Team, will take on Dominican Republic’s Angelo Peña, who will stake his World Boxing Organization (WBO) Inter-Continental super featherweight title.

Santisima will come into the fight enjoying a mini streak after winning four of his last five fights. The 29-year-old boxer won the World Boxing Council Continental super featherweight title last year.

Holding a 26W-8L, 22KOs record, Santisima is coming off an impressive sixth-round technical knockout win over Narumi Yukawa in Shizuoka, Japan.

Apart from looking to defend his title, Peña will try to preserve his unblemished record.

The 31-year-old Peña is off to a 12-0 pro career start with seven of his wins coming via knockout. Santisima will be Peña’s first Filipino opponent.(CCM)
