THE third installment of the Lite Ferries Anniversary promises to be another slam-bang affair.

Slated July 27 at the Cebu Business Park, the return of one Cebu’s well-attended and prize-packed races will offer a unique experience as local bands will be around to add spice to the event.

Carrying the theme “Run & Jam,” the fun run, which is one of the highlights of Lite Shipping Corporation’s (LSC) 34th anniversary, will not only be highly entertaining but will also be offering exciting prizes, said Geraldine Cosmod, LSC’s AVP Finance.

“We want the fun run to be really fun. And this is also our way of supporting the local bands. We want to show the public that “bisdak” music exists,” said Cosmod.

At least two alternative bands will be tapped to entertain the runners before and after the race, said Bryan Ernest Quisumbing, the company’s Passage and Area Manager.

“There will be no moment. Before and after the race, we will have bands and our runners can jam with them,” Quisumbing said.

Supervised by Joel Juarez of Coco Running, the race will have the 24-kilometer, 15K, 10K, 5K, and 3K categories with registration fees of P1,350, P1,250, P1,000, P799, and P650, respectively.

Just like in the event’s first two editions, exciting prizes will be given away.

Up for grabs are two brand-new Honda Giorno motorcycles. Top finishers in each category will also receive cash prizes.

As an added treat, runners from outside Cebu will enjoy a 50 percent discount on their round-trip LIte Ferries passage tickets.

Roger Bernasor, LSC’s senior accountant, said they are expecting at least 4,000 runners to join the event.

The race started in 2023 with close to 2,000 runners signing up. The race's second edition in 2024 attracted close to 3,000 runners.

Registration will only be until July 7.(CCM)
