THE hot streak continued for the Cebu Greats as they drubbed Manila Batang Quiapo, 128-93, in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) 2026 Season at the Novadeci Convention Center in Novaliches, Quezon City, on Monday, May 25.

Cebu had six players in double figures, using a balanced attack to secure a fifth straight win that hiked its record to 7-2 (win-loss).

The hot streak pushed Cebu to third place in the South Division behind GenSan (8-0) and Quezon Province (6-0).

Mark Meneses, the high-flying 6-foot-4 guard, once again led Cebu with 20 points, 11 rebounds and two assists. Adjudged "Best Player of the Game" was Dhon Reverente, who piled up 14 points, 17 rebounds, and four assists in the win.

The 6-foot-1 Reverente, Meneses, and Kint Ariar helped Cebu dominate the rebounding battle, 66-35.

By dominating the boards, Cebu scored 30 second-chance points. Manila tallied just eight second-chance points.

Ariar also logged a double-double with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists. Ron Dennison added 14 points, Ice Hontiveros dropped 10 points, five assists, and three rebounds, and Jonathan Ralf Gesalem put in 10 markers.

Cebu will try to keep its searing run going when it battles Gensan on Friday, May 29.

John Ashley Faa collected 23 points, seven steals, and seven rebounds, Alfred Sedillo netted 21 points and six assists, and Mark Doligon had 13 points, three rebounds, and two assists but Manila fell to 1-8.(CCM)
