BANKING on a torrid fourth-quarter attack, the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters pocketed a second-straight victory via a 107-93 dumping of the reeling San Miguel Beermen in the 49th PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Tuesday night, December 11, at the at the Filoil EcoOil Arena in San Juan City.
Rain or Shine turned a tight contest into a one-sided affair when it started the payoff period with an 18-6 attack. The third quarter ended with the Elasto Painters down by two before they came up with the huge run.
As a result, the Elasto Painters got a good follow-up of their 99-81 thrashing of guest team Eastern to hike their record to 3-1 (win-loss).
Import Deon Thompson remained undefeated as a PBA import, leading Rain or Shine with 18 points. Adrian Nocum added 15 markers, Caelan Tiongson tallied 14, Felix Lemetti and Keith Datu had 12 apiece while Jhonard Clarito chipped in 10 in a balanced Rain or Shine assault.
June Mar Fajardo finished with a game-high 20 points but the powerhouse Beermen absorbed a second straight defeat to drop to 1-2.
Quincy Miller tallied just 12 points although he had 10 rebounds in what could be his final game as a San Miguel import.
San Miguel has already brought in Miller’s possible replacement in Torren Jones.(CCM)
