CARLOS Yulo continues to reap the fruits of his double-gold performance in the 2024 Paris Olympics as he was given not just one but two houses-and-lots by the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC).

POC President Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino on Tuesday, September 3, announced that apart from Yulo, bronze medalist boxers Nesthy Petecio and Aira Villegas will also get their own brand new bungalows in Tagaytay City.

Completing a historic feat after winning two golds in the men’s artistic gymnastics, Yulo was gifted with two-story homes on a 500-square meter lot appraised at around P15 million.

Petecio and Villegas’s bungalows will rise on separate 200-square meter lots. Petecio is getting her second home in Tagaytay as she was also given a brand new home after winning a silver in the 2020 Tokyo Games.

Two Olympians boxers, silver medalist Carlos Paalam and bronze medalist Eumir Felix Marcial, are living in the same area after they were previously gifted by POC with brand new homes for their podium finishes in the previous Summer Games.

The place where these Olympians live is aptly named Olympic Village.

“All the rewards and bonuses that go our medalists’ way are well-deserved, it’s not easy to medal in the Olympics, it takes years, it takes focus, discipline and determination,” Tolentino said per a Manila Bulletin report.

“These athletes invested their lives into the sports they love and now, they’re reaping the fruits of their sacrifices,” Tolentino added.

A ceremony will be held where Tolentino will be turning over the keys to Yulo, Petecio, and Villegas.(CCM)
