THE Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) welcomed the return of the P60 billion from the National Treasury.

Officials of the state insurance agency said the funds will be used to strengthen healthcare services and expand benefits for members nationwide.

In a statementPhilHealth spokesperson Israel Francis Pargas said the returned funds are expected to support the agency’s ongoing efforts to improve benefit packages, upgrade internal systems, and speed up service delivery.

PhilHealth also acknowledged the Department of Finance for facilitating the remittance of the funds back to the state health insurer.

According to the agency, the funding will be allocated to programs aimed at improving access to healthcare services, while enhancing operational efficiency and system reliability for members.

“We thank the President for his clear directive to utilize these funds to improve healthcare services and reach every Filipino,” Pargas said per a report by Philstar.

He added that PhilHealth remains committed to ensuring that public funds are properly utilized for healthcare programs and services.
