WHILE on break, the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) embarked on a worthwhile cause.

PBA Cares, the league’s corporate social responsibility program, delivered sacks of rice, clothing and other essential goods to the residents of Barangay Cotcot, Liloan, Cebu on Tuesday, Nov. 25.

The relief drive was held at the Don Bosco Boys Home covered court.

TNT Tropang Giga teammates Calvin Oftana and RR Pogoy were on hand to lead the distribution of relief goods.

A total of 1,500 residents received rice, blankets and mats from the pro league.

The league’s Philippine Cup is currently on a break to give way to the campaign of Gilas Pilipinas in the 2027 FIBA World Cup qualifiers.

The tournament went on a break with the NLEX Road Warriors and Rain or Shine Elasto Painters leading the standings with similar 6-2 (win-loss) records.

Tied at second place with identical 5-2 records are the Magnolia Hotshots, San Miguel Beermen, Converge FiberXers, and the Tropa.

The Meralco Bolts and the Ginebra Kings both hold 3-4 slates while the Titan Ultra Giant Risers and the Phoenix Fuel Masters both have two wins and six losses.

Mired at the bottom of the standings are perennial league tail-enders Terrafirma Dyip and Blackwater Bossing, who both have 1-6 ledgers.(CCM)
